This impressive-looking hat is surprisingly easy once you learn four essential knitting stitches.  We will use our class time to focus on those stitches so that you can confidently complete the hat. 

 

Prerequisites:

§  Knit, Purl, and transition between the two stitches

§  Follow a pattern

§  If you have completed Intro to Knitting, you are ready for this class.

 Skill Focus:

·         Knitting in the round

·         Following a pattern

·         Increases (M1L, M1R)

·         Decreases (SSK, K2Tog)

Materials:

Yarn:   1-100g skein worsted (220yd to 100g)

o   Recommended: Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Grande

o   Alternate: Any worsted 100% Wool

o   Colorway: Solid to show off stitch detail

 


Needles

·         US size 5 16” circular

·         US size 7 16” circular

·         US size 7 set of double points    6” length or longer

Notions

·         Standard knitting notions

·         Removable locking stitch markers


Prep:

·       Gather all materials.  If they are new needles, remove them from the package at least 24 hours before the class to allow them to relax and untangle.

·         Wind yarn
