● Completion of Beginning Crochet Class 1 or familiarity with slip knot, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet.
Skills gained: ● Stitch your second washcloth using chain, single, and double crochet - simple, classic, and cozy.
Supplies:
● 150 yards of medium-weight cotton
o RECOMMENDED YARNS: Cascade Yarns: Nifty Cotton
● US G/6 (4.25 mm) crochet hook
● Tapestry needle
● Scissors
Class Description:
In the second class of this three-part beginning crochet series, Julene will guide you through constructing a classic granny square while making a beautifully textured washcloth. Building on the foundational stitches learned in Class 1, you'll learn how to form a ring, work the half double crochet stitch, and change colors to add visual interest to your project.
Julene will offer clear, step-by-step guidance and helpful tips to make learning these new techniques fun and approachable. While some students may finish their granny square during class, follow-up support is available via email for anyone needing help completing their project.
This class prepares you for the final session in the series, where you’ll learn to crochet in the round while creating a simple, beginner-friendly hat. Students will leave with new skills, a granny square in progress or completed, and the confidence to keep growing their crochet abilities.
